9th Annual Florida Bar IP Symposium | April 11-12

The Florida Bar IP Section has extended an invitation to all members of our section to the Florida Bar IP Symposium. Please see below for details.

This year’s symposium contains panel discussions focusing on IP damages, recovery of attorney’s fees under the Lanham Act, understanding and opposing failure to function trademark refusals, the effect of Matal v. Tam and In Re: Brunetti on the registration of disparaging and scandalous trademarks, recovery of lost foreign profits for patent infringement and an examination of copyright protection for photographs in light of the Mitchell A. Pohl v. MH Sub I, LLC decision.

Our lunch keynote speaker on Friday, April 12 is the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Commissioner for Trademarks Mary Boney Denison. See link for Ms. Denison’s biography: www.us [ www.us ]

Our dinner speaker on Thursday, April 11 is Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) Administrative Judge George C. Pologeorgis.

We anticipate that the Symposium will provide 11.5 CLE’s, including 1 technology and 1 ethics.
