Animal Law Annual Update

Animal Law Annual Update

Dearest Animal Law Section Members:

This year has been an exceptionally fantastic one for our Section – highlighted by establishment of a Facebook page, field trip to Project Chimps Sanctuary (for which we gifted them with a food dehydrator for the animals), sponsoring two outstanding animal law conferences at the State Bar, arranging social gatherings and updating a portion of the Section’s bylaws – and that the Animal Law Section received the State Bar of Georgia’s “Award of Achievement”!

I am so grateful to have served again as Chairperson for the State Bar’s Animal Law Section having previously served during the formative years in 2010-2013. My sincerest appreciation is being shouted out to all members for their time, support and positive energy towards ensuring this Section remained a vital part of serving Georgia’s Animal Law lawyers and legal community.

During this year’s annual meeting, Section members cast their votes for next year’s Board as well as amending the Bylaws. The Bylaws amendment to have a “successor type” election process passed unanimously – and will be posted on the website soon.

I am overjoyed and honored to announce the 2019/2020 Board of the Animal Law Section:

Chair – Alyssa Myers

Vice Chair – David Zagoria

Treasurer – Megan Boyd

Secretary – Karyn Pagnotta

[Note: Treasurer and Secretary tied; Michael Webb to serve as potential alternate]

Wishing you all a healthy and successful year – and congratulations on helping to make the State Bar of Georgia’s Animal Law Section such a wonderful success!

Sincerely,

Betsy Choder
