Dear Business Law Section Members:
Please join the International Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia on Thursday, March 19th at noon at the offices of Kilpatrick Townsend, 1100 Peachtree St. NE, Suite 2800, for an interesting program discussing the two new rules finalizing the expanded jurisdiction and new procedures under the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS).
The adoption of the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act (FIRRMA) in 2018 has expanded the jurisdiction of CFIUS and resulted in the issuance of two major regulation packages that are now final and in effect. The program will provide a brief introduction to CFIUS and discuss the new regulations and current CFIUS practice.
Our Speaker will be Jason Waite, partner in the Washington, D.C. Office of Alston & Bird. Jason leads the firm’s international trade practice. Waite concentrates on export controls, economic sanctions and related national security and regulatory matters impacting international business.

The charge is $25 for members of the International Law Section and $35 for others. The fee includes lunch, parking and one (1) hour of CLE.
We hope that you can join us.
