Fellow Members of the Family Law Section. Is your heart aching for our country and our community right now? Have you been reading or watching the news wondering how and what you can do to show your support for people of color crying out about the injustices they face? Then come STAND with us! It is our mission to STAND in solidarity with those individuals using their voice(s) to highlight racial injustice and promote real tangible change.

As lawyers, we are members of a very honorable profession, a profession that allows us to be in the unique position to figuratively and literally speak on behalf of others—others whose voices may have been stifled. Our STAND will show our community at large that we, as proud members of the State Bar, and active and essential participants in all three branches of government, will continue to serve as advocates for justice.

All our lives have been forever changed by the tragic deaths of George Floyd and others. What is happening now is not a moment, it’s a movement! The time is NOW for us to be open and vocal about our support and our commitment to continue our long-standing traditions as change makers.
