Follow-up on the April 9 Executive Order Permitting Remote Notarization and Witnessing

The State Bar has received a heavy volume of questions regarding Gov. Kemp’s April 9 Executive Order permitting remote online notarization. After consulting with attorneys in several of the Bar’s sections, we have compiled a page of suggested practices and frequently asked questions that address notarization and witnessing under the executive order.

You can visit the Bar’s Executive Order 04.09.20.01 Suggested Practices and FAQ page here [ www.gabar.org ] .

Please review the order yourself before deciding how to act and consult with colleagues in your practice area when you have questions. The State Bar cannot provide legal advice unless that advice pertains to the rules of professional conduct. This page will continue to be updated as we receive additional information from sections on their suggested practices.
