Feb. 6 | Bar Center in Atlanta | Offering 6 CLE Hours (6/2/1/5)

Join us for the Abusive Litigation program [ www.gabar.org ] to be held on Thursday, February 6, at the Bar Center in Atlanta.

A civil litigator needs to be prepared to seek attorney fees for the client when warranted. Equally important is to know how to defend against an aggressive effort to fee shift against your client. This seminar examines the procedural steps and substantive law of various fee-shifting theories, focusing primarily on Georgia state law, at the trial and appellate court levels.

Attorneys in attendance will receive 6 CLE hours, including 2 ethics hours, 1 professionalism hour and 5 trial practice hours.

Program topics will include:

– Claims for Attorney’s Fees and Expenses Under OCGA §9-15-14

– Recovery of Attorney’s Fees Under OCGA §13-6-11

– Legislative Changes and Technical Defenses

– Fee Shifting Under the Rules of Civil Procedure
