One hour of general CLE credit is pending.

Trade secrets are a critical and valuable component of almost all companies’ intellectual property portfolios. While hackers or rogue nations are responsible for some trade secret theft, the unfortunate reality is that most trade secrets cases involve theft by insiders, namely employees or business partners. Conducting regular trade secret audits and having a formal and effective trade secret protection plan in place can prevent such theft from occurring or can at least ensure the company is quickly alerted to nefarious activity so it can immediately act. A thorough trade secret protection plan also arms the company’s lawyers with the tools needed to enforce its legal rights in court. The panel for the CLE features two trade secrets practitioners and one in-house intellectual property lawyer, all of whom have substantial experience in advising companies on trade secret protection. They will discuss the benefits of conducting trade secret audits and implementing trade secret protection plans, as well as the various considerations that go into preparing and implementing such a plan.

The panelists for the CLE will be:

– Benjamin I. Fink, Shareholder, Berman Fink Van Horn P.C.

– Neal F. Weinrich, Shareholder, Berman Fink Van Horn P.C.

– Cheryl J. Tubach, Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, J.M. Huber Corporation
