International Law | Upcoming CLE

Dear International Law Section Members:

Please join us on Thursday, September 10 at noon on Zoom for an interesting program discussing the two new rules finalizing the expanded jurisdiction and new procedures under the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS ).

The adoption of the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act (FIRRMA) in 2018 has expanded the jurisdiction of CFIUS and resulted in the issuance of two major regulation packages that are now final and in effect. The program will provide a brief introduction to CFIUS and discuss the new regulations and current CFIUS practice.

Our Speaker will be Jason Waite, partner in the Washington, D.C. Office of Alston & Bird. Jason leads the firm’s international trade practice. He concentrates on export controls, economic sanctions and related national security and regulatory matters impacting international business.
