Presenters:

– Crissy Wolfe, Partner at Krevolin & Horst, LLC
– Emily Schifter, Senior Associate at Troutman Pepper, LLP
– David Golden, Partner at Troutman Pepper, LLP

The Nonprofit Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia will be hosting a webinar, which will provide an overview on what your nonprofit needs to know to navigate this COVID-19 environment. The presentation will explore contractual provisions such as force majeure, and other contractual methods to protect your organization during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 environment. We will also address what actions should be taken to ensure your employees and/or volunteers safely return to the office. This will include a section on the Georgia Pandemic Business Safety Act, which limits liability for certain COVID-19 related tort claims against non-profits, healthcare and certain other organizations. Last, we will address potential issues that could arise when a nonprofit operates outside of its initial charitable purpose and what alternative financing options may be available to nonprofit organizations. This will be an invaluable program for nonprofit staff, lawyers representing tax-exempt organizations and advisors, and those new to the area.
