Family Law | Diversity Committee Meeting, Reception, Picturing Justice Exhibit and Artist Talk and Book Club | Fourth Quarter 2019 – The Intersection of Art and Law Part II
The Family Law Section Diversity Committee will meet Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m. at the Atlanta Legal Aid Office (54 Ellis St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30303). We are proud to continue our efforts including our valued community service pop up shops and supportive mentor program, and are pleased to present part II of our second 2019 Diversity and Inclusion Speaker Series following the meeting. We would love for you to join us for all or any portion of the activities.
Join us for our November meeting, reception, Picturing Justice Exhibit gallery tour and artist talk followed by our second book club meeting. We continue to explore the book “Know My Name: A Memoir: Chanel Miller” and hope to discuss chapters four through eight. You may read all or none of the book. The themes are global and your input is invited. Our next read in 2020 will be Ta-Nehisi Coates’ “The Water Dancer.”

Please come and bring a friend, and bring a blanket! We are continuing to collect new or used blankets to donate to the homeless, and are expanding this service initiative to collect gently used professional garments for women in shelters hoping to gain employ. Clean out your closets and bring your discarded suits, shoes and professional accoutrement. Help us support women hoping to independently support their families.
Enjoy delicious light fare and libations as you listen and learn. If you plan to attend the meeting, artist talk or book club, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with “rsvp—the intersection of art and law—Nov. 20” in the subject line, and include the number of guests that will be attending.
