Nonprofits should be aware that these income-generating activities may trigger “Unrelated Business Income Tax.” This CLE will provide an overview of unrelated business income tax, an explanation regarding its importance and descriptions of UBIT modifications, exceptions and exclusions. A panel will discuss practical guidance for non-profits to consider when structuring corporate sponsorship fundraising models, cause marketing/commercial co-ventures, running stores or restaurants, renting office space, providing parking, or engaging in other income-generating services.
