*REMINDER* Foreign Seller Inbound E-Commerce: Does Physical Presence Still Matter?

Dear International Law Section Members and Friends:

Please join us TODAY at noon at the offices of Kilpatrick Townsend, Suite 2800, 1100 Peachtree St., Atlanta, Georgia 30309 for an interesting program on Foreign Seller Inbound E-Commerce: Does Physical Presence Still Matter?

Our Speakers and their presentations are:

Anna Burns, Assistant Director and Litigation Attorney
Federal Trade Commission Southeast Regional Office, Atlanta
Provisions and Enforcement of the Restore Online Shoppers’
Confidence Act (ROSCA) of 2010

Kathleen Cornett and Brian Harvel, Tax Attorneys
Alston & Bird, Atlanta
Tax Considerations for E-Commerce

Fundamental Federal Income Tax Considerations
The New Nexus Standards of Sales and Use Taxes
Obligations of E-Commerce Marketplace Facilitators
Spillover Effects on State Income Taxes

As e-commerce grows exponentially and is on its way to become the predominant mode of exchanging goods and services, the federal government as well as state and local governments are seeking to expand their regulatory control and taxing power over foreign-based entities which until fairly recently were largely untouchable. The panel will discuss recent changes and update us, among other developments, on the impact of the seminal Supreme Court ruling in South Dakota v. Wayfair, 138 S.Ct. 2080 (2018) on the states’ ability to impose sales taxes and user fees on out-of-state sellers. New state-by-state rules are just going into effect this year.

The charge is $25 for Members of the International Law Section and $35 for Nonmembers. The fee includes lunch, parking and one (1) hour of CLE.

We hope that you can join us.
