*REMINDER* Franchise & Distribution | Virtual Annual Meeting & CLE | Call for Nominations
Dear Section Members:
Please join the Franchise and Distribution Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia on June 30 from 12 – 1 p.m. for a virtual Annual Meeting and CLE program. As the Section year is coming to an end, we need to vote in the 2020-21 slate of officers. There is one open position for Member-at-Large; details on the nominations process are below.
Following a short business meeting to elect the officers, we will have a CLE program:
Successfully Integrating Legal Counsel with Franchised Businesses
This program will explore the perspective of business leaders, in-house counsel, and outside counsel in a practical and informative discussion about how these three important roles work together to support business initiatives, navigate business challenges and mitigate business risks. Discussion topics will include: how attorneys can help or hurt a business; implementation of internal legal processes and systems that align with the business landscape; how to manage legal fees and simplify budgeting; how to conduct attorney/client communications in an efficient and effective manner; and how to avoid common pitfalls and breakdowns in the relationship between business leaders and legal counselors. This program will give real-life practical pointers that will help in-house and outside attorneys maximize the value they provide their business clients.

Call for Nominations: At this meeting we will elect a slate of officers for the 2020-21 Section year, including a new Member-at-Large. You may nominate yourself or another member to serve as Member-at-Large. Please submit your nominations to kgoran@primroseschools.com by June 18. Three of our esteemed Section members — Kathryn Rookes, Michael Rosenthal and Mark VanderBroek have agreed to serve on the Nominations Committee this year. They will be responsible for evaluating the nominees and selecting the Member-at-Large from the nominations received.
