Atlanta Tax Community Welcomes IRS Chief Counsel Michael J. Desmond
On behalf of the Tax Sections of the Atlanta Bar, State Bar of Georgia and Federal Bar, we invite you to a reception welcoming IRS Chief Counsel Desmond to Atlanta. Michael Desmond was confirmed by the Senate in February, 2019 to serve as the Chief Counsel of the IRS and Assistant General Counsel in the Treasury Department. Chief Counsel is the chief legal advisor to the IRS Commissioner. Before entering private practice, Chief Counsel Desmond served in Treasury as tax legislative counsel as well as previously served as a trial attorney in the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
